Estimates, not guarantees
The calculators are for general information. Results are estimates based on the distances, fuel economy and prices you enter. Your real fuel cost will vary with traffic, speed, weather, load, upkeep and the price you actually pay. The site doesn't publish gas prices, and any price shown is an example. Nothing on this site is financial, tax or mechanical advice, so check anything important before you rely on it.
Where the data comes from
Vehicle ratings in the "Pick your car" box come from the U.S. EPA fuel economy dataset published on fueleconomy.gov, and CO2 figures use the EPA's published factors. We work to show them accurately, but we don't control the source data and can't guarantee it's free of errors. EPA ratings come from standardized tests and aren't a promise of the mileage your car will get.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The site and its calculators are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We try to keep the formulas and data accurate and current, but we don't promise the site is error-free or always available. To the extent the law allows, FuelPriceCalculator.com isn't liable for decisions made, or losses arising, from using the site or its results.
